DID YOU KNOW...

  • The oldest old (persons 85 years old and over) is the fastest growing segment of the elderly population. (U.S. Census Bureau)

  • The Elderly Outreach Program served a total of 417 low-income elderly people (60 and over) and 49% of these people were given needed prescription medications.

  • Dental Care for low income people of all ages is one of the greatest unmet needs in Lubbock and surrounding counties. (Annual Local Health Needs Assessments)

The Elderly Outreach Program, which is funded by the Lubbock Area United Way, targets its services to low income seniors in Lubbock County.  The program provides prescription medications, hearing aids, eye exams and eye glasses, and dental care and dentures so that they quality of life to these individuals is improved.

These clients lack the means to pay for all their health needs and by utilizing this program they can alleviate some of the physical pain they are in and hereby improve the quality of their life.  Without health insurance and nowhere else to turn, clients are grateful to the community for supporting the Elderly Outreach Program so that they gain strength and hope without the pain.
