DID YOU KNOW...
The At-Risk Youth Program works with youth and families to prevent delinquent behavior, rebuild the family structure, and develop the skills for making healthy choices for their lives. During the last year, a total of 880 youth and their families were served by a staff of 13 counselors working throughout a 30 county, 27,000 square mile area of West Texas.
The Youth Program also offers free Parenting Classes which serve an educational component and a support system between parents. Another program within the At-Risk Youth Counseling Program is the Youth Advisory Committee. This group is made up of teen volunteers, aged 13 to 17, that assist with the counseling staff on projects that benefit the community, like the Annual Chili Luncheon.
Universal Child Abuse Prevention (UCAP) works to educate the community on what child abuse is and how to prevent the abuse from occurring. We are always working on new way to get the word out about the different aspects of child abuse and how it affects everyone and not just the individual.
